KABUL (Pajhwok): The National Security Council (NSC) has asked Afghans within the country and abroad to get electronic national identity cards (e-NIC).
In a statement, the council said a meeting of the security sector leadership, chaired by National Security Advisor Hamdullah Mohib, was held on Saturday evening.
The meeting discussed the situation of Afghan refugees and reviewed measures that could resolve the issues and improve lives of Afghans, especially migrants, the statement added.
Ministers of refugees and repatriation, foreign affairs and Central Statistic Organisation (CSO) head also attended the meeting and shared their views about the current situation.
The statement citied that after the discussions the SCO along with other agencies concerned would work with all Afghans, especially those living in other countries to deal with the problems of registration and documentation for receiving e-NIC..
The NSC said it would help speed up the process of registration of Afghan nationals abroad and that steps would be taken to address their problems.
