FARAH CITY (Pajhwok): A 100-bed hospital worth 50 million Afghanis for the treatment of Covid-19 patients has been put into service in western Farah province, an official said on Saturday.
Public Health Director Abdul Jabar Shaiq told Pajhwok Afghan News that in the past Covid-19 patients were receiving treatment at the Farah University’s hostels.
He said the newly hospital has been established in one floor with 66 rooms at total cost of 50 million afghanis within one month.
He added 243 individuals have been contracted with the coronavirus, 22 people had lost their lives while 30 others recovered from the pandemic so far in the province.
Earlier today, the Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) said at least 165 new positive Covid-19 cases were detected in different parts of the country in the last 24 hours, taking the nation’s overall tally to 30,616.
