ZARANJ (Pajhwok): Six security personnel and as many Taliban were killed in the Taliban’s attack on the police station of Chakansour district in southwestern Nimroz province on Tuesday, an official said.
Eighteen security personnel and four Taliban assailants were injured in the firefight continued till 6:00am, according to local sources.
A security personal, wishing not to be named, said the Taliban stormed the district police station early at 4:00am after which a heavy clash erupted between the two sided.
Chakhansour district police chief was among 18 police injured in the attack, he said
The injured had been shifted to Provincial Hospital and were in stable condition.
The Taliban have not spoken about the incident.
