KABUL will be issued visas by India in coming days, says the Sikh Gurudwara Management Committee (DSGMC) president.
Manjinder Singh Sirsa said had won an assurance from senior External Affairs Ministry officials that 600 Sikhs and Hindus in Afghanistan would get visas soon.
An Indian TV channel reported that a delegation, led by Sirsa, met the head of the Afghanistan and Pakistan desk at the ministry, in New Delhi.
He raised the issue of bringing to India the remaining Hindu and Sikh families from Afghanistan, NDTV quoted the DSGMC leader as saying.
“We will ensure those Hindu and Sikh families in Afghanistan are brought here,” said Sirsa, who praised the Indian government’s willingness to help the Afghan Sikhs and Hindus.
