KABUL (Pajhwok): The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) has dispatched documents related to the construction of embassy wall in Washington to the Attorney General Office (AGO) and Ombudsperson Office, an official said on Wednesday.

According to Pajhwok Afghan News investigative report The Afghanistan Embassy in the United States has reconstructed its boundary wall measuring 70 meters at a cost of around 1,825,839 US dollars after its reconstruction for $88,000 was rejected by the embassy.

For building the 70-meter wall, KADCON Corporation has been given $1,586,000, VIKA Company received $12,750 for survey, ECS received $12,250 for soil test, KCE received $64,839 for technical advices and DLA Piper received $150 for making contracts and legal consultation.

MoFA Spokesperson Geran Hewad told reporters here saying the ministry welcomed investigation report on wall construction in Washington embassy and document in this regard had been handed over to the local investigation bodies.

He said the ministry strived to ensure transparency adding the purpose of providing documents to concern authorities was to ensure future decisions are taken in line with the country’s law.

He said the bodies 61 people had been taken out of the sea in which 34 were Afghans and 17 bodies had been transferred to the country.

He said the bodies of five Afghans were buried in the Wann city of Turkey on the bases of coordination with their families.

He asked the people not to put in danger their lives by embarking on illegal journey to foreign country.

Earlier, a boat carrying migrants was drowned in Turkish water. Afghans were among those drowned in sea.

He also welcomed the Taliban’s decision of ceasefire during Eid days and stressed over durable ceasefire in the country.
