Paktika protesters condemn Pakistan’s artillery shelling

SHARANA (Pajhwok): Hundreds of people on Thursday protested against Pakistan’s land.

Pakistan forces recently fired artillery into Barmal district, leaving some people killed and injured.

Qudratullah, head of Wazir tribe and resident of the area, said Pakistan’s Independence Day was a black day for Pashtons and Baloch people.

He said Pakistan fired artillery rounds into Barmal district, in which some people had been injured.

Mohammad Sediq Kharotai said besides artillery shelling, Pakistani forces had moved up to 10 kilometres inside Afghanistan and had captured its territory.

Kharotai said this was not acceptable to the people anymore and the Afghan government should respond to Pakistan’s aggression.

Other protesters expressed similar views and said if the government failed to contain Pakistani aggression, residents were ready to defend the country alongside security forces.
