17 new Covid-19 cases surface in Afghanistan

KABUL (Pajhwok): Seventeen new positive coronavirus cases reported in Afghanistan in the past 24 hours taking the national tally to 38,872, according to a statement on Thursday.

The new cases were confirmed among 265 suspect patients during 24 hours, the Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) said in a statement.

Among the fresh cases 7 registered in Balkh, 5 in Kabul, 3 in Daikundi and one each in Laghman and Noristan provinces.

The total number of people died of the respiratory disease in reached at 1,436 while 32,505 recovered.

The Ministry of Public Health has called on the public to strictly follow the ministry’s guidelines to prevent the spread of the coronavirus.
