KUNDUZ CITY (Pajhwok):  The Afghan Kam Air Airlines conducted flights from Kabul to northern Kunduz province on Tuesday.

Mohammad Qasim Wafai, the Afghanistan Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) head and Kunduz governor Abdul Satar Mirzakwal took part in the flights’ inauguration ceremony.

Governor Mirzakwal told the gathering that the flights were officially conducted today and there would be two flights a week. He said the flights would resolve traders’ issues.

A number of provincial council members and residents expressed their happiness over the start of flights from Kabul to Kunduz and thanked the local leadership for its efforts in this regard.

Amruddin Wali, a member of the provincial council, said, “I’m happy to see flights from Kabul to Kunduz are finally started and I hope the operation would continue in future as well.”

It is worth mention that no flights from Kabul to Kunduz could take place due to security issues during the last one decade.
