US supports inclusive, durable peace in Afghanistan: Khalilzad

 

KABUL Peace Process Zalmay Khalilzad and shared Afghan women demands and suggestions.

The meeting was held in Doha, the capital city of Qatar.

Sharifa Zurmati, the government delegation member, told Pajhwok Afghan News her four other colleagues — Fatima Gilani, Fawzia Kofi and Habiba Surabi met Zalmay Khalilzad.

He said during the meeting peace process, surge in violence, public reservations and demands were discussed.

Zurmati said, they were in contact with people back home and were being updated on date to date affairs.

She said the people of Afghanistan specially women are concerned regarding the ongoing conflict, adding that all these concerns were shared with Khalilzad and he assured full support.

She said that women rights, their achievements in the past 20 years, preservation of women rights, women education and their economic activities were discussed.

According to Zurmati, Khalilzad during the meeting assured support in public quest for ceasefire and durable peace process.

The US special representative reaffirmed commitment peace process which inclusive and the rights of the people of Afghanistan is preserved.

Earlier, media reports suggested that Khalilzad has embarked on a visits of some countries, including Qatar.
