ASADABAD (Pajhwok): The Taliban have kidnapped the rural development director for eastern Nuristan province along with three of his subordinates in Kunar province, officials said on Thursday.
Kunar police spokesman Faridullah Dehqan told Pajhwok Afghan News the incident took place in the Darmalok area of Chapadara district on Wednesday.
He said Syed Masoum Saeedi was abducted along with three workers by the Taliban insurgents on the way to Paron, the provincial capital of Nuristan province on Wednesday.
He added a policeman was also with the rural deployment department’s officials who had been killed by the Taliban the above area.
Saeed Momand, the Nuristan governor’s spokesman, confirmed the incident to Pajhwok and said efforts were underway for the release of the rural development department official.
