KABUL (Pajhwok): Afghanistan’s Ambassador to Qatar Abdul Hakim Dalili died of cardiac arrest early on Tuesday, a well-placed source in the Afghan Embassy in Doha said.
Dalili was rushed to hospital after he suffered a heart attack on Wednesday and he breathed his last on Tuesday morning, according to the source.
President Ashraf Ghani expressed his deep sorrow and grieve over Dalili’s death and said he truly served the people of Afghanistan and the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan in Qatar.
The president said during his recent trip to Doha, Qatari officials, Afghan negotiating team members and Afghans living in Doha praised Dalili’s performance. Ghani termed his death as a huge loss for Afghanistan.
