JALALABAD (Pajhwok): A would-be suicide bomber planning to attack a former district chief has been arrested in eastern Nangarhar province, an official said on Tuesday.
The alleged suicide bomber was detained in the 7th police district of Jalalabad City, the provincial capital.
Attaullah Khogyani, the governor’s spokesman, told Pajhwok Afghan News that National Directorate of Security (NDS) personnel arrested the suicide bomber before reaching his target.
He said the attacker wanted to target Haji Abdul Khaliq, former chief for Hesarak district.
He added the detainee named Mohammad Hazrat hailed from Logar province and he was currently being interrogated.
