A dozen cops injured in Arghandab car bombing

KANDAHAR CITY (Pajhwok): A dozen policemen were injured as a result of a car bombing in the Arghandab district of southern Kandahar province on Saturday morning.

Deputy police chief Gen. Fareed Mashal told Pajhwok Afghan News the powerful explosion took place in the Kohak area of the district at around 7:30am.

The bomber used a tank in conducting the attack, which resulted in injuries to seven police personnel, the official said.

Tariq Arian, the Ministry of Interior spokesman, said the explosives-packed vehicle was positively identified and blown up by police.

He said 12 policemen were injured in the explosion.
