JALALABAD (Pajhwok): Wolesi Jirga Member Haji Hazrat Ali says insecurity, targeted attacks, blasts and other incidents of violence had reached a highest level in the country, urging an immediate ceasefire and peace.

Addressing his supporters in Jalalabad, the capital of eastern Nangarhar province, Ali said the situation would deteriorate further if peace did not establish.

He complained that security situation had worsened in Kabul and Nangarhar provinces and blamed security institutions for their failure.

“Our children are dying, our dignity is lost and our honor is not protected,” he remarked.

He called on the people to join hands and get united in order to overcome current challenges in the country.

“Our nation wants immediate ceasefire and a peace in which all Afghan can live together,” he said.

He said if a participatory government could achieve peace in the country, then no one should oppose it, but before this form of government, a nation-wide ceasefire and stability must be ensured.

It is worth mentioning that US special envoy for Afghanistan Zalmay Khalilzad during his recent trip to Kabul had discussed the formation of participatory government with Afghan leaders.
