8 upraising forces suffer casualties in Nangarhar clash

JALALABAD (Pajhwok): At least five upraising force members have been killed and three others wounded during a clash with Taliban militants in Khogyani district of eastern Nangarhar province, officials said Sunday.

Mohammad Ayub Bahar, Khogyani district chief, told Pajhwok Afghan News that Taliban militants stormed an upraising force post in Kambo area of the district on Saturday night.

However, he did not provide further details about the attack.

A security official who wished to go unnamed, said that five upraising force members were killed and three others wounded in the incident.

Taliban also suffered huge casualties in retaliatory firing, but their exact figures are unknown, the official added.

A Taliban spokesman, Zabihullah Mujahid also claimed that five upraising force members were killed and three others wounded in the attack.
