Alipur escapes before military raid: MP

KABUL (Pajhwok): A number of Meshrano Jirga or upper house members on Sunday said that illegal uprising commander, Abdul GhaniAlipur, escaped from Behsud district of central Maidan Wardak province to Malistan district of southern Ghazni province.

On March 17, armed men affiliated with Alipur shot down an Afghan army helicopter in which four pilots and five Special Unit personnel were killed. The government has vowed to take revenge of the incident.

Today’s session of Meshrano Jirga or lower house of the parliament discussed punishment of those involved in the helicopter shooting.

Mohammad HanifHanafi, Complaints Hearing Commission of the upper house, said that Alipur has escaped from Behsud district to Malistan district to protect himself against Afghan forces’ operation.

“Anyone who takes arms against the republic and Afghan forces is the enemy of the Afghan people and he would be no different than a terrorist,” he said.

He said that people would stand against the government if no action was taken for his detention.

FazalHadiMuslimyar, Meshrano Jirga chairman, said, “Those who fight against Afghan security forces are rejected and there is no difference between them and terrorists.”

He said that the case should not be politically treated as it was a clear crime and those involved should be taken to task.
