11 suffer casualties in Kabul, Kapisa incidents

KABUL/AIBAK/MAHMOOD RAQI (Pajhwok):  At least eleven people were killed and wounded in various incidents in Kabul and Kapisa provinces, officials said on Wednesday.

Gunmen shot dead an Afghan National Army soldier in Qarabagh district of Kabul province on Wednesday, said the district chief Khawaja Mohammad HanifSiddiqui.

However, he did not elaborate about the incident in Daudzai area.

Siddiqui said two passengers were killed and three others injured when the vehicle they were travelling in veered off the road on Wednesday morning.

He said the victims were residents of Ghorband valley in Parwan province.

Separately, Kapisa police spokesman Abdul ShaykhShurash said that KhajaAtiqullah, deputy director of security in the second part of Kohistan district, was assassinated in Talishida village of the district by unknown gunmen.

Meanwhile, MunirRahimi, Samangan police spokesman said three people had been arrested in connection with the theft of a car.

He said police arrested the three people in an operation in connection with the theft of a vehicle on the Samangan-Baghlan highway.

He added, the stolen car was handed over to its owner.
