Civilian killed in ANA forces’ fire in Faryab

MAIMANA (Pajhwok): A civilian was killed when Afghan National Army soldiers allegedly opened fire at a passenger vehicle in Khwaja Sabz Posh district of northern Faryab province, sources said on Friday.

A reliable security source in the area, who did not want to be named, told Pajhwok Afghan News that a Saracha-type vehicle was traveling from Sherin Tagab district to Maimana city when ANA troops fired at the vehicle in Khanqah area of ​​Khwaja Sabzposh district.

A man named Muazullah, a mechanic, was killed in the incident.

A relative of the slain man also claimed that Moazullah was shot dead by ANA forces. The man left behind two children and pregnant wife.

Khwaja Sabarposh district chief Abdullah Masoomi also confirmed that one civilian had been killed, but said it was not yet clear if security forces or Taliban insurgents opened fire at the vehicle.
