Afghanistan among major importers of Indian sugar

KABUL (Pajhwok): Afghanistan and Indonesia are among major importers of sugar from India this season, says the Indian Sugar Mills Association (ISMA).

The Hindu, quoting figures from the association, reported Afghanistan Indonesia imported about 48 percent of the total Indian sugar exports of 29.72 lakh tonnes.

Indonesia has imported about 11.5 lakh tonnes of the sweetener and Afghanistan 4.7 lakh tonnes from India, according to the newspaper.
