At least 5 wounded in Kabul suicide bombing

KABUL (Pajhwok): Five individuals have been wounded in a suicide bombing in Kabul, the Ministry of Interior (MoI) said on Wednesday.

The massive overnight explosion was a suicide attack, targeting on the National Directorate of Security (NDS) personnel. a security source said.

Tariq Aryan, spokesman for the Ministry of Interior, said the incident took place in the Shaheed square in the 15th police district at around 10pm.

Without elaborating, the official said five individuals including civilians and security personnel were wounded in the blast.

Two vehicles were damaged in the explosion, which also has caused financial losses to shops and houses in the area.

Meanwhile, a security source wishing anonymity told media outlets the blast was a suicide attack on the NDS personnel.

The source added a convoy of spy service (241 Unit) was entering the logistics department at the Shaheed square when the suicide attack happened.

He added the attack caused casualties but exact figures were yet to be known. No group has so far claimed responsibility for the suicide bombing.
