FARAH CITY/CHARIKAR (Pajhwok): Armed insurgents have killed a woman in western Farah province and a 28-year-old psychologically -challenged man hanged himself to death in central Parwan province, officials said on Thursday.
Farah police spokesman Farooq Hazrati told Pajhwok Afghan News a woman, aged 50, was killed in the Taliban-controlled Koshkib village of Farah City on Wednesday evening.
Hazrati identified the woman as Kubra Faiz, legal director of the Center for Juvenile Correction and Education.
No one has so far claimed responsibility for the killing.
Un Parwan, a young man with psychological issues hanged himself from a tree, crime branch head Mohammad Sidiq Hashimi said.
He said the incident happened in Kocha Payeen/Gulbahar area of Jabalus Saraj district. Hashimi quoted the victim’s family as saying the man had hanged himself due to psychological problems.
