Global coronavirus tally exceeds 176 million-mark

KABUL (Pajwok): More than 176 million people have been infected with Covid-19 worldwide, reports said on Saturday.

After emerging in Wuhan, China last December, the COVID-19 virus has spread to at least 200 countries and it is now under control in many countries but in some countries a third wave has begun.

According to data from Johns Hopkins University in the United States, at least 176 million people worldwide have been detected with coronavirus as of Saturday.

More than 159.6 million people worldwide have recovered from the disease and returned to normal life and 3.8 million have died from Covid-19.

According to published data, more than 500,000 people worldwide got infected with the corona virus during the past 24 hours and 10,000 of them died from it.

According to reports, 34.3 million people in the United States, 29.3 million in India and 17.3 million in Brazil have been infected with the coronavirus.

The death toll from the corona has risen to 6 14,000 in the United States, 367000 in India and 484,000 in Brazil.

Russia, Colombia, Mexico, South Africa, Spain, Argentina, Chile, Britain, Italy, Germany, Iran, Turkey and Peru are the countries with the highest rates of Covid-19 disease.

More than 88,740 people have contracted the virus, 3449 have died and nearly 60,000 recovered so far in Afghanistan.
