Casualties as security forces, Taliban clash in Parwan

CHARIKAR (Pajhwok): At least five security forces and four armed Taliban were killed and six security men were injured and another four captured by Taliban in Siagard and Shinwari districts of central Parwan province on Saturday.

A security official, who did not want to be named, told Pajhwok Afghan News that a clash erupted between the Taliban and government forces in Sigard district between government forces and the Taliban.

Five government forces and four Taliban were killed, six security forces were wounded and four were captured by the Taliban, he said.

Meanwhile, a reliable source in Shinwari district of Parwan province said that the Taliban attacked check-posts of two government forces in the NamakAb valley of the district and set it on fire.

Provincial police chief Brigadier General Abdul Rauf Uruzgani said the check-posts in Siagard district had been recaptured by security forces and that the Taliban suffered casualties.

He said the Taliban attack had been repulsed. But he did not comment on the clashes in Shinwari district.

Taliban spokesman ZabihullahMujahid claimed that the Taliban seized the DahanDaraNamak valley of Shinwari district and captured check-posts last night in the Kuh-e-Bacha area of Siagard district.

He added that ten government forces had been killed and four others captured by the Taliban.
