KABUL (Pajhwok): Uzbekistan President ShavkatMirziyoyev has renewed his country’s support to the people and government of Afghanistan and pledged to continue cooperation in different fields, a statement from the Presidential Palace in Kabul said on Thursday.
The Uzbek president made this commitment during a meeting with President Ashraf Ghani. The Afghan president on his first day of official trip to the neighbouring country met his Uzbek counterpart.
Both dignitaries discussed improved security on the border, economic cooperation, trade and transit, electricity supply, railway line and regional consensus on Afghan peace process.
It was also agreed that during Friday conference on regional connectivity all nations should be pressed to provide sincere support to Afghan peace process.
Uzbek president pledged support to Afghan government and its people and assured durable cooperation in the future.
President Ghani thanked Uzbekistan President Mirziyoyev for his good intensions, cooperation and warm hospitality.
