KABUL (Pajhwok): In order to save Afghanistan from again becoming a safe haven for terrorists, the US embassy in Kabul on Thursday asked the Taliban to end violence and fully join peace talks.
The US Embassy in Kabul tweeted that the Taliban and the warring parties should stop fighting and agree on a permanent and comprehensive ceasefire to end the suffering of the Afghan people.
It asked the Taliban and the Afghan government to find a political solution to the problem that benefits all Afghans. The US embassy added that Afghanistan should not become a safe haven for terrorists again.
The on and off peace talks between the Afghan government and the Taliban have been ongoing in Qatar since last 10 months, but so far no significant progress has been made while the war has intensified in the country.
