Salary transfer system of govt employees digitalized

AKABUL (Pajhwok): President Mohammad Asharf Ghani on Tuesday said the new electronic salaries payment system will help ensure transparency and prompt issuance of salaries to government employees.

He was addressing a gathering marking the inauguration of digital salaries transfer system. Ghani said government employees often complained about none-issuance of their salaries but this system will help address their concerns.

He said: “The security and defense forces were martyred while receiving their salaries, the bank branches do not exist in the military corps and other facilities and they could not transfer their salaries to their families; But with this system, in a short time, they can receive and transfer money anywhere they want”

He said a formal letter should be demanded from all government staff in which they have to identify their next of kin in order to resolve future problems.

Ghani said with this system no authority could hide their staff who received salaries.  He added the number of government employees will be defined through this system and all doubts that existed will be removed.

Nadir Naderi, head of the Independent Civil Services and Administrative Reform Commission (ICSAR), termed the digitalization of salary system a huge step in the digitalization process of the administration and added imaginary employees will have no place in the government administration.

Acting Finance Minister Khalid Painda said this system will help identify civil servants and mistake that happened in the past will not be repeated.
