KABUL (Pajhwok): Following a string of rallies in Kabul and other cities. the Taliban’s interim government on Thursday announced a countrywide ban on protests.
Absence permission from the Ministries of Interior and Justice, protests could not be staged in Kabul or other provinces.
In a statement, the Ministry of Interior (MoI) said no one was allowed to stage demonstrations without authorisation from justice and interior ministries.
It warned: “Those who protest without approval would be responsible for consequences, if any.”
Earlier in the week, the Taliban fired into the air to disperse protesters in Kabul, who accused Pakistan of meddling in Afghanistan.
