KABUL (Pajhwok): Uzbekistan has pledged to offer free visa to Afghan students and provide them with more education-related facilities, a statement from the Ministry of Higher Education said on Sunday.
The commitment by Uzbek authorities was made during a meeting between Afghan Higher Education Minister Abdul BaqiHaqqani and his Uzbek counterpart in Termez city on Saturday, according to the statement.
“Afghan students studying in Uzbekistan universities on discount will continue their studies until the Ministry of Finance system through which their fee and expenses are transferred becomes operational. Their studies will not be interrupted and all facilities would be provided to them.”
Views were also exchanged during the meeting on promoting higher education between the two countries and technical teams of both the countries were tasked to work together and share their report with the higher authorities within 10 days.
