Kandahar-Dubai flights to resume from Sunday

KANDAHAR CITY (Pajhwok): Afghanistan Civil Aviation Authority (ACAA) with support of the Ministry of Transport has obtained permission for flights between Kandahar City and Dubai, an official said on Monday.

Naqib Afghan, acting head of the Ahmad Shah Baba International Airport in Kandahar City, said the flights will resume between the two cities on Sunday.

He said the flights would be conducted every Sunday from Kandahar to Dubai and every Monday from Dubai to Kandahar City.

Kandahar businessmen and residents are overjoyed over the resumption of Kandahar-Dubai flights after three months.

Asadullah, a local businessman, said with resumption of flights, business activities with other nations would be resumed.

He demanded the resumption of cargo flights from Kandahar City as well to enable the export of fresh and dry fruits.

In addition, businessmen have asked local authorities to ensure reasonable sale of flight tickets.

It is worth mentioning that today (Monday) Kabul-Dubai flights also resumed. Aryana Afghan Airline will fly to Dubai on a daily basis from Kabul.
