CHARIKAR (Pajhwok): The Salang Highway that connects Kabul with northern provinces has been closed for cargo trucks due to heavy snowfall, an official said on Monday.
Samiullah Walizad, the Salang highway maintenance commander, said the thickness of snow in the northern part of the highway was 40cm and 15cm in south.
He said the highway was closed for cargo trucks for safety reasons. He added that clearing snow from the road has been started by the department.
