BAMYAN CITY (Pajhwok): The Agriculture Department of central Bamyan province has distributed improved quality seeds among thousands of farmers who would also receive chemical fertilizer in the near future.
ZabihullahRabdoost, director of Bamyan agriculture department, told Pajhwok Afghan News that the seeds were distributed to farmers in Kakawlang, Shebr and Panjab districts of the province. The aid was donated by Future Generation Afghanistan (FGA) organization.
The organization would also distribute chemical fertilizer to these farmers in the near future, he said.
The assistance to Bamyan farmers comes as crops production has sharply declined in the province due to drought over the last few years.
Most or 85 percent of Bamyan residents are associated with traditional farming.
