Afghanistan records 95 Covid-19 cases in past 24 hours

KABUL (Pajhwok): Ninety-five people have tested positive for coronavirus in the past 24 hours, an official said on Wednesday.

Dr. Javid Hazeez, the spokesperson for the Ministry of Public Health (MoPH), said 716 suspected cases had been referred to different laboratories in the past 24 hours in which 95 persons tested positive for Covid-19.

Off the new cases, 52 tested positive in Nangarhar, 22 in Kabul, 10 in Kandahar, five in Helmand, five in Maida Wardak and one in Kunar province.

He said since the inception of the virus 835,894 people had been tested for coronavirus in which 158,772 were positive.

Nearly 8,000 persons have died from the virus while 149,961 have recovered.
