Ankara will not allow anti-Taliban movement: Envoy

KABUL (Pajhwok): Turkish Ambassador to Afghanistan Cihad Erginary during a meeting with Acting Interior Minister Serajuddin Haqqani pledged that Ankara will not allow anti-Taliban movement on its soil, according to a statement on Thursday. Haqqani also urged that Afghan officials living in Turkey should get full advantage of the general amnesty announced by the Taliban leader and return back to the country, according to a statement on Thursday.

“Individuals who migrated to Turkey due to the fear of Islamic Emirate, they shall get maximum advantage of the general amnesty announcement and Turkey shall help in their repatriation,” the Interior Ministry’s statement quoted Haqqani as saying.

Turkish envoy assured Haqqani that Ankara will not allow any anti-Taliban movement on its soil.

This comes that besides a large number of Afghan refugees some key members of the previous regime are currently living in Turkey.

Haqqani asked the Turkish envoy to provide scholarships for orphan Afghan students.

He assured full cooperation in providing educational scholarships to Afghan orphan students and added different Turkish organizations that worked in Afghanistan for the welfare of the people.
