KABUL (Pajhwok): Afghanistan has dropped eight spots in the Corruption Perceptions Index for 2021, says the latest report Transparency International.

The results are measured on a scale of  (highly corrupt) to 100 (very clean).

Afghanistan, which received a score of 65 last year compared to 73 in 2020, was ranked 165th out of 180 countries.

All South Asian countries, barring Bhutan, have got lower scores than the global average of 43.

Ranked 25th in the world, Bhutan has the lowest level of corruption in South Asia, with a score of 68.

With 40 points each, India and the Maldives are ranked 85th. With 37 points, Sri Lanka is 102nd and Pakistan 140th with 28 points.
