KANDAHAR CITY (Pajhwok): Four children were killed in a mortar shell explosion in the Shah Walikot district of southern Kandahar province on Friday, an official said.
Police Spokesperson Mohammad Asif Hakimi told Pajhwok Afghan News victims were playing with a mortar shell when it went off on Friday morning.
Hakimi urged masses to inform security personnel in case they find war remnants in their areas.
He also asked elders to prevent children from playing with explosive items.
