KABUL (Pajhwok): Officials of the caretaker government deny reports about a reshuffle in the cabinet, saying no changes have been brought to the government structure.
Some media outlets reported that after a three-day cabinet meeting, Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar was appointed as new Prime Minister of the caretaker government.
Sky News Arabic reported that former first Deputy Prime Minister Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar has been appointed as new Prime Minister.
The reports said the changes had been made during a three-day cabinet meeting chaired by supreme leader Mullah Haibatullah Akhundzada.
Zabihullah Mujahid, spokesman-in-chief for the government, tweeted: “Rumors about change of the Prime Minister of the government made by some media are untrue, no changes have been brought to the cabinet.”
