Farah hospital gets medical aid worth 11m afs

FARAH CITY (Pajhwok): The 200-bed hospital in western Farah province has received medicine and equipment worth 11 million afghanis, the Public Health Department said on Wednesday.

Dr. Sirajuddin Muzamil, director of public health, told Pajhwok Afghan News the aid included an anesthesia machine, serums, a ventilator, a suction machine, a patient monitor and other medical supplies.

He said the medicine and equipment were badly needed in emergency situations. They are also vital for patients in the city and districts.

Ibrahim, a resident of the Darabad village of Farah City, welcomed the medical assistance but said Farah being a large province needed more.

Khial Mohammad, a resident of Farah City, urged the government to pay more attention to meeting health needs of the province.

He also hoped medical aid would be supplied to health centers in the districts as well.
