AIBAK (Pajhwok): A man stabbed his wife to death and injured two of his own children in northern Samangan province, an official said on Saturday.
Maulvi Ferozuddin Farooqi, crime branch chief, told Pajhwok Afghan News the woman named Sidiqa was stabbed to death by her husband in Aibak City on Friday night.
He said the children wanted to stop their father from stabbing their mother and as a result they sustained injuries.
He called domestic violence behind the incident and it was being probed.
On the other hand, Zia Gul, a women right activist, said the reasons behind such incidents were poverty, joblessness, literacy, forced marriage and no punishment of criminals.
