Hundreds of Afghan refugees return from Iran, Pakistan

KABUL (Pajhwok): The Ministry of Refugee and Repatriation (MoRR) on Thursday said 534 Afghan refugees returned to the country voluntarily or forcibly expelled from neighboring Iran and Pakistan.

In a statement, the MoRR said these Afghan refugees returned to the country on Wednesday.

According the ministry, 474 refugees who returned from Iran comprised 33 families and they entered the country through Nimroz and 315 more were deported from Iran.

It added 42 families, comprising 181 people, have been introduced to the  International Organization for Migration (IOM) to receive assistance.

Also, the ministry said nine families of Afghan refugees or 60 individuals, who had been living in Pakistan without documents, have returned to the country through the Spin Boldak border.

Three days ago, the Ministry of Refugee and Repatriation said more than 2,500 Afghan refugees returned to the country from Iran and Pakistan in recent days, and more than 1,600 of them were forcibly deported from Iran.
