Fuel, gold, cooking oil prices decline in Kabul markets

KABUL (Pajhwok): The prices of fuel, gold and Malaysian cooking oil have declined while the rates of Indian sugar and Kazak flour surged in the outgoing week in Kabul markets.

An employee of Ahmad Yar Pump Station said the price of one litre petrol declined from 95 afs to 91 afs while the price of one litre of diesel declined from 127 afs to 117 afs.

The price of one kilogram of liquefied gas remained 76 as of last week, according to Mohammad Sharif, a gas seller in Kabul’s Kolola Pushta area.

It is worth mentioning that the rates of fuel declined at a time when the Ministry of Finance inked an agreement of importing 350,000 tonnes of fuel from Iran.

Mohammad Javid, one of the gold seller at Layci Maryam market, said the price of one gram of gold Ayaar 750 declined from 4,300 to 4,200 while one gram of Russian gold Ayaar 585 declined from 3,400 to 3,300.

Hamid Sufizada, a retailer at Dahni Bagh area of Kabul, said the retail price of 49-kilogram of Kazaki flour was 2,650 afs afs, 24 kilogram bag of Pakistani rice 3,050 afs 49 kilograms bag of Indian sugar 3,450 afs, 16 litres of Malaysian cooking oil 2,550 afs, one kilograms of green Indonesian tea 400 afs and one kilogram of black African team 450 afs.

Haji Hussain, owner of the Sadaqat Money Changer, said one US dollar was accounted for 89.40 afs while 1,000 Pakistani rupees accounted for 400 afs.

Last week one US dollar was accounted for 88 afs while 1,000 Pakistani rupees accounted for 410 afs.
