DABS pays Uzbekistan for last year’s power imports

KABUL (Pajhwok): Da Afghanistan Breshna Sherkat (DABS) has made a payment to Uzbekistan for the electricity supplied to the country last year, says a media statement.

Citing a statement from the Ministry of Energy in Tashkent, Gazeta.uz reported payments were currently being made by the Afghan energy company for 2022 deliveries.

The Uzbek Ministry of Energy says 2,151,300 kWh of electricity were supplied to Afghanistan in 2021.

“In 2022, electricity supplies from Uzbekistan to Afghanistan are set at 2.21 billion kWh, of which 770.2 million kWh have already been delivered.”

The report added: “Payments for the electricity supplied this year from Uzbekistan are being made by DABS on a systematic basis.”
