‘Most schools in Laghman’s Dawlatshah districted without buildings’

MEHTARLAM (Pajhwok): Thirty-two out of total 41 schools in the Dawlatshah district of eastern Laghman province have no buildings, an official said on Monday.

Education Director Mawlavi Shah Jahan Sajid told Pajhwok Afghan News: “According to our information that 32 schools, including four high schools, are without buildings.”

Sajid said that they were in contact with the Ministry of Educations and other relevant institutions to construct buildings for these schools.

District Education Head Mawlavi Abdul Momin Minqad told Pajhwok that thousands of students are studying under open sky now.

Minqad said: “the education routine has changed for the better than in the past, but Farashghan, Rand Dagran, Noya number 1, Gadyala number 1 high schools, 11 middle schools, 14 primary schools and 3 religious madrasas have no buildings.”

Dawlatshah District Chief Qari Abdul Qaher Mutawakil said that they have shared the issue of provincial officials.

Mutawakil added that United Nations Children’s Fund (unicef) want to establish 35 local classes in the near future.

Abdul Salam, a resident of Farashghan district said: “There are no build for schools in our village, the students study under open sky.”

According to Minqad 4,855 gils and 10,320 boys were imparted education in 41 schools in Dawlatshah district.
