KABUL (Pajhwok): On the occasion of US force’s withdrawal from Afghanistan the National Olympic Committee and the General Directorate of Sport have held a sports exhibition in capital Kabul.
On its Twitter handle the Sport and Olympic Committee on its Twitter handle wrote different sports exhibitions and a football match was held on Thursday evening to celebrate the country’s independence.
Acting Foreign Minister Ameer Khan Muttaqi participated in the event and hailed the role of sports officials in promoting the culture of sport in every part of the country.
Foreign Ministry’s Deputy Spokesperson Hafiz Ahmad Zia Takal on his Twitter handle wrote that the acting foreign minister called on the international community to continue its sports relationship with Afghans.
He termed the past year positive for sports events and encouraged sportsmen to fully use sport for their fitness and moral character.
