GHAZNI CITY (Pajhwok): The Red Crescent Society in southern Ghazni province on Tuesday distributed food items among 1,000 needy families.
Mullah Noruddin Torabi, deputy head of the Afghanistan’s Red Crescent Society, told Pajhwok Afghan News the aid donated by Turkey and the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) was distributed to families who had been affected by war and drought.
Torabi, who traveled to Ghazni province to distribute the aid, said these families belonged to Ghazni City and Gilan district.
Each family received 100 kilograms of flour, 24.5 kilograms of rice, 10 liters of oil, eight kilograms of beans, five kilograms of sugar, two kilograms of salt, one kilogram of green tea and biscuits.
The aid would meet requirements of the impoverished families for some time.
