11 killed, 48 wounded in Baghlan accidents

PUL-I-KHUMRI (Pajhwok): At least 11 people have been killed and 48 more wounded in two separate traffic accidents in northern Baghlan province, an official said on Sunday.

Police spokesman Maulvi Sher Ahmad Burhani told Pajhwok Afghan News one accident occurred on Saturday night when a passenger vehicle overturned in Salang area.

As a result, eight people, including two women, were killed and 41 others wounded, he said.

Separately, two cars collided in Doshi district, killing three people and injuring seven others.

Safiullah, an official of the traffic department, confirmed the accidents and said the injured were evacuated in time to a local hospital.

Abdullah Malang, director of public health, said nine people, including women and children, were killed and 33 more wounded in the accidents.
