1 killed, 6 injured in a clash near Durand Line in Paktia

GARDEZ (Pajhwok): One individual has been killed and six others wounded as a result of clash in the Dand-i-Patan district of southeastern Paktia province.

Ajaab Noor, a resident of the district, told Pajhwok Afghan News: “Last night at 8:00pm a Fierce clash took place near the Durand Line. Mortar shells were coming from Pakistan and hit the houses of the common people, so people were forced to move to other areas.”

Without going into details, he said residents’ houses damaged and a number of people sustained injuries.

Dr. Naseer Ahmad Rahmani, director of provincial hospital, told Pajhwok that a body of a security officer and six injured civilians were brought to the hospital from Dand-i-Patan clash on Sunday night.

However, a local source told TOLOnews that a firefight erupted between the tribes of both sides near the Duran Line of the district.

According to the source, the clash took place on Sunday over land ownership between the residents of “Satya” and the other side “Baruki”.

It said five people were injured in the clash, two of them were residents of Dand-i-Patan district and three others are residents of the other side.

Government source have not yet commented on the Dand-i-Patan clash.
