KABUL (Pajhwok): The Ministry of Finance has lowered the custom duty over the import of fast-speed vehicles (models 2013- 2022).
In a statement, the MoF on Sunday said the custom duty had decreased from 70 percent to 40 percent, from 60pc to 30pc, and from 40pc to 20pc based on their specifications.
According to the statement, the decision of reduction of tariff on cars has been taken after the suggestion of the customs department and the approval of the MoF.
The ministry also informed that the import of vehicles more than 10 years old banned into the country.
The aim of the reducing this customs tariff was to replace old cars in the market with the new and also increase the national income, the source added.
Earlier, the MoF recued the import tariff from 20 percent to five percent in order to lower the prices of vegetables.
