11 alleged drug traffickers arrested in some provinces

TARINKOT (Pajhwok): Eleven people have been arrested in connection to alleged drug trafficking, sale and purchase in Uruzgan, Parwan, Takhar, Faryab and Badakhshan provinces.

In addition, tens of acres of standing poppy crops had been eradicated in Farah and Uruzgan provinces.

The Ministry of Interior (MoI) on its Twitter handle wrote that four acres of standing poppy crops had been eradicated in the Pushtroad district of Farah province.

Four people had been arrested in Parwan province in connection to drug trafficking, two people were held in connection to the sale of drug in Badakhshan while one person was arrested in connection to the smuggling of four kilograms of hashish.

Two people were arrested and an alcohol factory was recovered in Faryab province. In Uruzgan, two people were held in connection to the smuggling of drug.

Uruzgan Police Spokesperson Hafiz Mobin, said two people who wanted to smuggle 150 kilograms of drug to Pakistan from Chori district were arrested.

He said recently, nearly 50 acres of standing poppy crops had been eradicated in Tarinkot and some districts of Uruzgan.
