Woman among 6 Daesh affiliates killed in Herat raid

HERAT CITY (Pajhwok): Six Daesh militants, including a woman, have been killed during a targeted operation by security forces in western Herat province, the provincial Information and Culture Department said on Saturday.

The Information and Culture Department in a statement said that security forces of the Islamic Emirate conducted an operation on a hideout of Daesh-Khurasan in district 14th of Herat city last night.

The operation which was conducted in Rubat Kabuli area and resulted in the killing of six ISK militants, including a woman. Some arms were also confiscated.

The police headquarters did not respond to calls from Pajhwok Afghan News to comment about the incident.

However, SefatullahJoya, a local resident, confirmed the incident and said the Daesh affiliates lived in a rented house.

The bodies of the militants were taken away by security personnel who remained still on at the scene, he said.

The Information and Culture Department said security forces suffered no casualties during the nighttime raid.

This was the third time security forces conducted such operation against Daesh in Herat.
