KABUL (Pajhwok): Seventeen people have been arrested in connection with drug smuggling and dealing, the Ministry of Interior said on Friday.
In its twitter handle, the MoI wrote that counter-narcotics police in five provinces had arrested 17 people on charges of drug trafficking and selling.
The source added that two drug and alcohol producing factories were also recovered and poppy cultivation eradicated on 0.5 acre of land.
“Three individuals detained in connection with 15 kilograms of hashish and an alcohol factory, three on drug selling charges in Badakhshan, three for drug producing factory in Khost, five for drug smuggling with two motorcycles in Ghor province,” the source elaborated.
The ministry said that 0.5 acre of land was cleared from poppy cultivation and three people had been arrested in connection with selling narcotics in Daikundi province.
The ministry did not specified the date and time of the arrest of these people and recovery of the drug and alcohol factories.
